This research area focuses on examining how laws function in practice and their impacts on communities. A core element is post-legislative research, which assesses the effectiveness of laws after their implementation. The process involves identifying laws for review, collecting and analyzing data on their enforcement, and evaluating their social and institutional outcomes.
Since 2024, Nyan Corridor has been working with newly emerging federal units in Myanmar to conduct post-legislative research in their areas. This collaboration helps to support evidence-based policymaking, enhances accountability, and strengthens local governance structures by ensuring that laws are responsive to people’s needs and lived realities.
